Purpose: This article explains how to renew an existing prescription directly from a patient's profile in iPrescribe.
Audience: Active iPrescribe providers
Providers can renew prescriptions from the Active Medications section of the patient profile page. Clinical staff may set up a renewal using this workflow; the prescription will transmit after the provider signs it.
1. Log into the iPrescribe app and navigate to the selected patient's profile screen.
2. Find the prescription you want to renew under Active Medications.
3. Choose one of the following methods to renew the prescription.
- Option A: Swipe left on the prescription you want to renew, then tap Renew.
Stop, Prescribe, Renew
- Option B: Tap the prescription you want to renew and view the Medication Review screen, then tap Renew.
A notification appears confirming that the prescription has been renewed.
Clinical staff may set up a renewal using this workflow; the prescription will transmit after the provider signs it.
Note: If you need to edit the prescription before sending it to the pharmacy, select the Prescribe option on the screens shown.
