New phone or lost access to your token? Pair a new soft token

Purpose: Reconnect your ID.me Authenticator app to your iPrescribe account after losing access to your original token.
Audience: iPrescribe EPCS prescribers who got a new phone or lost their registered device without having registered a hard token.
When to use this: You can't access your authenticator and don't have a backup token. DrFirst recommends that all EPCS providers associate more than one authenticator ("token") to their iPrescribe account.

Before you start

  • Download the ID.me Authenticator app from your app store
  • Have your ID.me account email and password ready
  • Have your personal information available (name, birth date, social security number)

Important: The DEA requires that the authenticator you use to generate a one-time passcode be on a different device than the device that you use to electronically prescribe a controlled substance.

Re-pair your ID.me Authenticator to iPrescribe

1. Log in to iPrescribe and select Settings from the main menu.
