Purpose: This article explains how to find a pharmacy and save it as a favorite in iPrescribe.
Audience: iPrescribe users.
Use the sections below to find a pharmacy by name, browse by filter, or manage your saved favorites.
Search for a specific pharmacy
Use this method when you already know the name of the pharmacy you want.
- Open a prescription and navigate to the pharmacy search screen.
Enter your search using one of the following formats:
Option A: Search by name and zip code- Enter the first three letters of the pharmacy name and the zip code. A list of matching pharmacies appears.
Option B: Search by name and location- Enter the first three letters of the pharmacy name, the city, and the state. A list of matching pharmacies appears.
- If the pharmacy is a mail order pharmacy, toggle the Mail Order filter to Yes. The results update to show mail order pharmacies only.
Browse pharmacies by filter
Use this method when you want to explore available pharmacies in a location without a specific name in mind.
- Open a prescription and navigate to the pharmacy search screen.
- Enter the city and state to set your search area. A list of pharmacies in that area appears.
- Select the filter options to narrow results by pharmacy type, hours, or other criteria. The results update based on your selections.
Save a pharmacy as a favorite
Saving a pharmacy as a favorite lets you find it faster on future prescriptions. iPrescribe supports two types of favorites:
- Patient favorite (yellow star): Saves the pharmacy to one or more specific patient profiles.
- Practice favorite (black star): Saves the pharmacy for the whole practice — useful for an in-office or nearby pharmacy your practice uses regularly.
- Search for the pharmacy using the steps above. A list of results appears.
- Tap the star icon next to the pharmacy you want to save.
- Tap the yellow star to save it as a patient favorite. The star fills yellow to confirm it is saved.
- Tap the black star to save it as a practice favorite. The star fills black to confirm it is saved.
- To remove a favorite, tap the filled star again. The star returns to its unfilled state and the pharmacy is removed from favorites.
To view your saved favorites, tap the Favorites tab on the pharmacy search screen.
