Purpose: This article explains how to activate, use, and deactivate Patient Finder in iPrescribe to import and manage your patient list.
Audience: New and active iPrescribe providers who want to import their existing patients.
Prerequisite: Step 3: Set Up E-Prescribing in iPrescribe
What is Patient Finder?
Patient Finder is an iPrescribe feature that searches databases to find and import your patients.
Activate Patient Finder
When you log in for the first time, iPrescribe prompts you to Activate Patient Finder.
1. Select the Activate Patient Finder button.
2. Select the Add My Patients button.
The system searches for your patients and notifies you of the number of patients found.
Note: iPrescribe will continuously run Patient Finder and load patient profiles.
If Patient Finder doesn’t find all of your patients, you can easily add them (How to Add New Patients), or submit a request to have our Support Team assist you with a patient upload.
1. Access Patient Finder in the menu:
- Tap the menu icon ≡ in the top left corner
- Select Settings
- Select Patient Finder.
2. Select the Activate Patient Finder button.
3. Select the Add My Patients button.
The system searches for your patients and notifies you of the number of patients found.
Note: iPrescribe will continuously run Patient Finder and load patient profiles.
Deactivate Patient Finder
1. Access Patient Finder in the menu:
- Tap the menu icon ≡ in the top left corner
- Select Settings
- Select Patient Finder.
2. Select the Deactivate button, then confirm that you want to deactivate Patient Finder.
Deactivating will stop the import of new patients and remove imported patients you haven't worked with in the iPrescribe app yet.
Patients you've prescribed for, edited, or added a pharmacy to will remain in your account.
