iPrescribe: How to Enable Face ID or Touch ID

Follow the directions outlined below to enable Face ID or Touch ID.

Start on your phone's home screen.

Apple (iOS) Devices

Step 1: Tap the Settings app, then scroll down and select Face ID & Passcode.

Step 2: Enter the Passcode to your phone (passcode to unlock your phone). Then, tap Other Apps.

Step 4: Search for the iPrescribe app, then enable Face ID by switching the toggle on.

Important notes: 

  1. The toggle above for FaceID will not be present for iPrescribe unless you answer "Yes" when prompted to use FaceID for the first time.
  2. iOS will prompt for FaceID only after the user turns on “Remember Me” on the iPrescribe Log In screen AND after about 30 minutes have elapsed. If the user says no to FaceID, the above toggle will not appear.
  3. The timeout session is very short (~ minute). What does this mean? If you leave iPrescribe and come back within minutes, FaceID will still be available. If you come back after hours/days, you would need to re-enter your username and password. 

Android Devices

Touch ID

Step 1: Tap the Settings app, then select Biometrics and security.

Face ID

Step 1: Tap the Settings app, then select Biometrics and security.

Step 2: Tap Face recognition → Register face.

Step 3: You will be taken through the process of mapping your face into the phone's security data.

  • Make sure to look directly into the camera as it gets to know your features.
  • Make sure to be in a well-lit room so that the optics can see you clearly.
