How To Download Attachments From Backline

This article provides step-by-step instructions on downloading attachments from Backline (Web) and Backline (Mobile). Click any of the following links to skip to the respective section of the article:

Web

Step 1: Click the attachment from within the chat screen.

Step 2: Click the download icon in the upper right-hand corner or the lower right-hand corner of the attachment viewing screen.

Step 3: You will receive a warning indicating that the attachment may contain protected health information (PHI). Click the Confirm button to continue.

Step 4: The attachment will automatically download to your computer.

Mobile

Before you download attachments from the Backline mobile app, you will need to enable a specific setting to do so. You can enable this setting in Backline Enterprise, which only Admins have access to. This setting is located within the Configurations tab under Security

  • Once you are in your Configurations → Security, check the box labeled Mobile Attachment Download & Sharing.

iOS (iPhone; Apple) Devices

Step 1: Tap the attachment from within the chat screen.

Step 2: You will see a confirmation window acknowledging that downloading the attachment follows your organization's privacy policy. Tap Confirm to continue.

  • This pop-up window (refer to screenshot) appears each time you view an attachment on the mobile app, regardless of whether you plan to download it or not.

Step 3: From the attachment viewing screen, click the Download icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (refer to the screenshot).

Step 4: Save the attachment to your mobile device by tapping Save Image.

Android Devices

Step 1: Click the attachment from within the chat screen.
