Script 2017: Overview
DrFirst enables providers to convert to new standards and stay compliant with ever-expanding rules and regulations. iPrescribe has been certified compliant with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) mandated NCPDP SCRIPT 2017071 (Script 2017) e-prescribing standard. This certification enables iPrescribe to continue to advance the efficiency, quality, and safety of e-prescribing.
Now that iPrescribe is certified, a critical app update has been released with the compliant changes. In two weeks, these changes will go into effect; therefore, you can do some simple things to prepare.
What Actions Are Required From Me?
Ensure you are on the latest version of the app available via the Apple App Store and Google Play.
If you are on a previous/outdated version, you will receive an in-app message upon login asking you to upgrade to the latest version. If this applies to you, please update your iPrescribe mobile application.

Take requested action on all Rx Requests, Renewals, and Canceled Rx messages. This will prevent any issues with prescribing for your patients.
Taking Action on Rx Requests, Renewals, and Canceled Rx Messages
Step 1: Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) at the top-left corner of your screen.

Step 2: Tap one of the following options:
- (A) Rx Requests can be viewed by tapping on the menu and then Rx Requests
- (B) Renewals can be viewed by tapping on Renewals from the home screen or the menu
- (C) Canceled Rx messages can be viewed by tapping on the menu and then Canceled Rx
