This article provides instructions on how to verify your identity through ID.me. It also assumes you are setting up your iPrescribe account and currently on step 3 listed in the following article: iPrescribe: Account Setup.
If you have received an EPCS Gold invitation link, you would need to access your registration invite.
Quick Tips:
- If you hit done it will exit the process; you will need to log back into ID.me to continue.
- You may pause at any time and resume by logging back in with your iPrescribe username and password.
- If your experience issues during the process, please contact ID.me as DrFirst does not manage this process. You may contact ID.me by visiting https://help.id.me/hc/en-us and clicking on the chat icon
at the bottom right of the ID.me home page.
Step 1
Tap Launch ID.me at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2
Sign up for an ID.me account by entering the following fields:
- Password
- Confirm password

Check the box labeled I accept the ID.me terms of service and privacy policy to sign up for a new account, or log into your existing ID.me account.
- To subscribe to ID.me's offers and discounts, check the box labeled I want to subscribe to ID.me offers and discounts.

Step 4
Once completed, tap the Sign up button at the bottom of the screen.
- You will need to confirm the email address you provided.

Navigate to your email address inbox folder, and open the email from ID.me.
- You will receive two separate emails from ID.me. The second email will contain the confirmation link.

Click the Confirm your email button at the bottom of the message.
- The email confirmation button expires in 15 minutes, so make sure you press the button within the allotted time.

Step 7
Go back and open the iPrescribe application.
- You will no longer need to check your email for anything at this point in the process, so you may close your email mobile application.
Step 8
In the iPrescribe application, you will be on the ID.me + iPrescribe screen, and it will require you to secure your account with two-factor authentication.
Press the Select button under Text Message or Phone Call to get a 6-digit code sent to your phone by text message or phone call.

Step 9
Follow these steps in chronological order, and refer to the screenshot below:
(A) Enter your mobile phone number in the space provided.
(B) Select the Text message option.
(C) Press the Continue button at the bottom of the page.

Step 10
A 6-digit code has been sent to your phone. You will be redirected to the Secure Your Account screen that will require you to provide this 6-digit code.
- It may take up to a few minutes to receive the text message.
- Some phones will automatically fill this code in for you when you receive the text message.
Open iPrescribe and enter the 6-digit code on the page you left off on. Then, press the Continue button at the bottom of the screen.

Step 11
On the next screen, tap the Continue button.

Verify your identity again by tapping Start Now next to one of the verification methods presented on the screen.
- There are several verification methods that you can select from. If one method fails, please attempt a different method.

Step 13
Upload your photo by pressing the Choose File button, then tap Continue.
- This step is if you chose to use a photo of your ID, passport, or passport card as your verification method.
- Some methods may require you to upload the front and back sides of your identification.

Tap the Looks good? button to confirm your photo uploads.

Take a Selfie so ID.me can match it to the photo on your government ID.

On the next screen, follow the steps below in chronological order:
- This screen will require you to scroll down.
(A) Select the type of phone you are using.
(B) Enter your phone number.
(C) Press Continue.

Enter your Social Security Number, then press Continue.

Review your information (you may need to scroll down) and check the box labeled The information I've provided is correct, and I accept the use of Fair Credit Reporting Act data to verify my identity.

Step 19
Once you have reviewed your information and checked the box to confirm the information is accurate, press the Continue button at the bottom of the screen.

Step 20
ID.me will send you a text message with a confirmation link. Open the text message and click on the link provided to confirm your phone number.

Step 21
After clicking the link, you will be redirected to a browser that will prompt you to continue the verification process. Press Continue verification.

- Your phone may display a dialog box asking if you would like to open iPrescribe. In this case, click Open.

Enter your NPI number, then press Continue.

Confirm your information on the next screen, then press Continue.

- iPrescribe pulls the above information from the NPI registry. If your information is incorrect, please reach out to the NPI Registry to have your profile updated.
- We pull in your state license from the NPI registry; if it is incorrect, please update the number through the NPI registry and then try again.

You have completed your identity verification process. Press Continue.

Tap the Allow button at the bottom of the screen. You will be redirected to the iPrescribe login page afterward.
- Finalize your account by allowing permission to share your verified identity information.
- You must Allow your information to be sent to iPrescribe or you will be unable to log into iPrescribe.

Step 26
Congratulations! You are now ready to use iPrescribe.* Log in to start using iPrescribe.
*Note: If you would like to activate to Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances, please select Activate My iPrescribe Account for EPCS.
